ORAL, DENTAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Oral, dental, and jaw diseases are a branch of dentistry that deals with the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments determined both clinically and radiographically.

This branch diagnoses and surgically treats all disorders involving the soft tissues (such as cheeks, palate, tongue, lips) and hard tissues (such as teeth, bones, joints) inside the oral cavity. Surgical procedures are performed in an operating room under local anesthesia, general anesthesia, or sedation.

Tooth extractions, wisdom tooth removals, impacted tooth surgeries, implants, treatment of jaw fractures, detection and treatment of jaw tumors, abscesses and cysts in the jaw and surrounding tissues, preparation of tissues before prosthetic and orthodontic treatments are some of the cases covered by oral and maxillofacial surgery.
