GUM RECESSION

GUM RECESSION

Gum recession problems occur when the gum margin descends below the enamel level, exposing the root surface area. Inflammation inside the gum causes bone tissue surrounding the tooth to dissolve, leading to bone loss. The gum tissue follows the bone tissue, resulting in gum recession.

Causes of Gum Recession;
•   Proper tooth brushing technique is important. Incorrect brushing causes gum recession.
•   Brushing teeth more than three times a day.
•   Brushing teeth harshly and with excessive pressure.
•   Gum diseases or previously applied faulty fillings and crowns, as well as tooth misalignment, cause gum recession problems.

Treatment for Gum Recession;
•   Treatment of damage to the tooth surface,
•   Proper treatment of tooth sensitivity,
•   Surgical restoration of the receded gum tissue can be applied as treatment methods.
